Jack and Jill Preschool “Fancy Dance”
Jack and Jill Preschool, located in North Oxford, is celebrating 50 years of early childhood excellence. The teachers and parent council decided that getting all dolled up and decked out for a “Fancy Dance” was a good way to mark the occasion. This fancy event included all its students and families, in all their fancy finery, using all their fancy footwork on the dance floor!
Held in the beautifully decorated cafeteria of the Oxford High School on Saturday, March 28, over 200 children, parents, grandparents and teachers came together gyrating, jumping, moving and grooving to all the popular hits of Disney, Taylor Swift, Katy Perry and the Village People. The DJ’s from Karaoke for Kidz of Dudley shared the microphones with throngs of preschoolers who were belting out the chorus from “Let it Go” from the popular Disney Frozen movie. Special dances for Dads and daughters followed by a turn for Moms and sons were captured on countless video cameras amid a few teary grandparents. A dance instructor from Sally McDermott Dance Studio in Auburn, Ms. Nadine Zona, was on hand to teach the children some Uptown Funk-y moves to add to their energetic hip hop! There were refreshments, door prizes, raffles, a photo op area with lots of zany props, and favors for everyone.
